The FOMC decides Oct 28 at 2 p.m. ET, BEA publishes Q3 GDP and PCE Oct 29, and the ECB, Bank of Canada and Bank of Japan all set rates between Oct 28 and 30. The Black Executive: Weekly Market Watch
Four G7 central banks decide inside roughly 48 hours: the Bank of Canada announces at 09:45 ET on Oct 28 (Bank of Canada), the FOMC concludes its Oct 27–28 meeting with a 2:30 p.m. ET press conference on Oct 28 (Federal Reserve Board calendar), the ECB publishes its decision at 14:15 CET on Oct 29 (ECB weekly schedule), and the Bank of Japan concludes its Oct 29–30 meeting (Bank of Japan).
US growth and inflation print in one release window: BEA publishes the Q3 2026 advance GDP estimate and September personal income and outlays — including PCE inflation — at 8:30 a.m. ET on Oct 29, less than 19 hours after the Fed's statement (BEA release schedule).
Labor costs close the week: BLS publishes the Q3 Employment Cost Index at 8:30 a.m. ET on Oct 30, after metro-area unemployment on Oct 28 and 2025 Consumer Expenditures on Oct 29 (BLS release schedule).
AfDB just showed what AAA African paper costs: the African Development Bank priced a USD 2.5 billion long three-year benchmark at 4.875%, SOFR mid-swaps plus 28 bps, with orders of USD 4.8 billion (AfDB release via allAfrica — Oct 23, 2026).
Caribbean procurement keeps flowing from CDB: the Caribbean Development Bank approved US$56.2 million for climate-resilient schools in Antigua and Barbuda, covering four schools and more than 10,000 students (Caribbean Development Bank — Oct 21, 2026).
Federal Reserve, ECB, Bank Of Japan And Bank Of Canada Announce Rate Decisions In Same Week As US GDP
This is a synchronized policy week, not a data week.
Wedged between the Fed and the ECB, BEA releases both Q3 GDP and the September PCE inflation data at 8:30 a.m. ET on Thursday (BEA release schedule).
The Fed decides before it sees the quarter's growth print; the ECB decides after markets have digested it.
The household backdrop going in is weak.
The University of Michigan's final October sentiment index was 48.0, 10.4% below a year earlier, while year-ahead inflation expectations rose to 4.7% and long-run expectations to 3.5% (University of Michigan Surveys of Consumers — Oct 23, 2026).
That is a hurdle for any central bank signaling easing.
African and Caribbean balance sheets enter the week with their own price signals. The AfDB's USD 2.5 billion benchmark priced at a re-offer yield of 4.933%, with 39% of allocations going to central banks and official institutions (AfDB release via allAfrica — Oct 23, 2026).
Every move in Treasury yields this week reprices it.
