Free to explore. Independently researched. Continuously expanding.

The BEJ Global Advisory Desk is a free global resource mapping the professional infrastructure behind Black and African business, investment and wealth across international markets.

Our research currently covers 14 markets, 50 firms and 187+ working routes, connecting executives, founders, investors, families and businesses with legal, tax, accounting, banking, investment, regulatory and other professional expertise.

The Desk is continuously expanding as BEJ researches additional markets, institutions and cross-border relationships.

How we verify every entry
What this is

A record of which advisory roles are covered on a given route, and by whom. It is not a ranking, a league table, or a list of the largest firms.

We judge two things separately. Capability decides whether a firm is listed at all: documented work on the route, and the licence or admission the role requires. Ownership is then shown as an attribute, never hidden. Use the filter to see only diaspora-owned firms, or every firm we have verified as capable.

How ownership is established

Ownership certified. An independent body has confirmed Black ownership. In South Africa this means a B-BBEE rating; in the United States, minority business enterprise certification.

Firm states ownership. The firm publicly identifies itself as Black-owned. We record that as the firm's own statement rather than as a finding of ours.

Local firm. Headquartered and led in the market concerned. We do not apply an ownership test to firms operating in their own country.

Ownership not established. Documented capability on the route, but we could not determine who owns the firm. Listed so the page is useful, labelled so it is honest.

Where the numbers come from

Any figure for assets under management is taken from the firm's SEC Form ADV or the equivalent regulatory filing in its jurisdiction, and is dated. We do not repeat financial figures from directories, trade press, or firms' own marketing. Two entries in this edition were corrected during preparation when secondary sources proved inconsistent with the filings.

What we will not do

We do not infer ownership from a firm's name, from a partner's surname, or from the demographic make-up of the country it operates in. Population share does not tell you who owns the professional sector — that is precisely why certification regimes such as B-BBEE exist. Inclusion cannot be purchased, and no firm listed here has paid to appear. Nobody with a commercial interest in a listed firm takes part in decisions about that firm's inclusion.

Why some roles are empty

An empty role marked We researched this means we examined the market and could not verify anyone we are prepared to stand behind. An unmarked empty role means we have not reached it yet. We publish both. Corrections and submissions are reviewed on the same basis as our own research.

Every route needs the same eleven roles filled. Use Only what I still need to see which ones nobody covers yet.
