Four stories define infrastructure modernization, community mobilization, ecosystem building, and financial resilience for Black and African business leaders today.

Pan-African technology group Cassava Technologies partnered with US-based AXON Networks to co-develop, deploy, and manage Africa’s first end-to-end Operator-as-a-Service (OaaS) platform—announced Wednesday at Counder Conference 2026 in Cape Town—enabling customers and service providers to use AXON’s AI-ready orchestration platform across Cassava’s 110,000 km pan-African fiber backbone, submarine cables, and satellite capacity, leveraging digital twin technology for real-time, predictive, and self-optimizing operations.

The Atlanta Black Chambers hosts its Women’s League Kickoff TODAY (January 28, 5:30-8:30 PM) under the theme “The Power of What’s Next in 2026,” celebrating where the Women’s League is headed and launching strategic initiatives for the year.

Washington D.C.’s Black business ecosystem demonstrates how local support infrastructure—including directories like Black Pages International, networking events, and policy advocacy—can drive equity and economic opportunity in 2026, with the city hosting an Access to Capital event for African American entrepreneurs and small business owners TODAY (January 28, 8:30 AM-12 PM).

Black entrepreneurs face IRS audit rates 2.9 to 4.7 times higher than non-Black taxpayers—with 92% of Black business owners reporting financial difficulties—requiring professional tax strategies including installment agreements, offers in compromise, penalty abatement, and audit representation to reduce liabilities and avoid aggressive collection actions.
